Transit service altered Monday for MLK holiday

Muni and BART will operate on different schedules for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday in place of usual weekday service.

Muni is operating under a Saturday schedule for the holiday, which means reduced train and bus service.

Likewise, BART will use a Saturday schedule. For those who commute to work, that means trains will start running at 6 a.m. instead of the normal 4 a.m. Also, BART parking lots will operate under holiday protocols, which means parking permit and fee requirements will not be enforced.

Caltrain is operating a normal schedule.

Many public offices and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed.
