Thugs resolve to rob, stab and assault in the New Year

These thugs really burnt some calories as part of a New Year’s resolution to rob, stab, hammer upon, pepper-spray, and, if possible, flee with a load of loot in San Francisco:

Vidal Drive and Acevedo Avenue
2:53 a.m., Tuesday
Two men and a woman, all in their 20s, met with five suspects to sell marijuana. Instead of cash, they got pepper-sprayed and robbed of pot. One suspect fired a gun into the air.

Eddy and Leavenworth streets
9:47 p.m., Monday
A 31-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly pummeling a 42-year-old man in the head and body with a hammer. Cops were flagged down and arrested the suspect, who attempted to flee in a silver pickup truck.

24th and Shotwell streets
3 a.m., Sunday
A couple walking and both talking on cellphones were robbed just hours after the ball dropped. Four thieves tried to snatch a cellphone, but they made off with just jewelry after the male victim, 24, resisted. He suffered multiple facial lacerations during the heist.

Turk and Hyde streets
9 p.m., Monday
A cowardly thug crept up behind a 21-year-old man who was walking and stabbed him in the back with a knife. The thug fled. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
