Throat-punching punks assault San Francisco clerk for refusing to sell cigarettes

Perhaps cigarette packs should don a warning label about throat-punching punks.

The San Francisco shopkeeper was attacked Wednesday after carding three men wanting to buy cigarettes.

The victim, a 41-year-old man, was punched in the throat and robbed of cigarettes in his store in the 1800 block of Market Street around 6:40 p.m., San Francisco police said.

The victim refused to sell them cigarettes because he thought they looked too young, police said. One of the punks then punched the clerk and grabbed the cigarettes.

All three fled on foot. Police reported the suspects were in their 20s. No arrests have been made, police said.

The victim refused treatment for his injury and is reportedly in stable condition, cops said.
