Three-vehicle crash snarls Golden Gate traffic

A three-vehicle crash on the Golden Gate Bridge on Saturday afternoon snarled traffic and left at least one person injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The vehicles crashed just before 4 p.m. in the No. 1 northbound lane near the bridge's north tower, Golden Gate Bridge police Sgt. Steve Fry said.

The involved vehicles were moved to Vista Point, prompting the closure of the Vista Point entrance while emergency personnel and police responded, Fry said.

At least one person suffered minor injuries. One ambulance was dispatched to the scene, Fry said.

Shortly after the crash, northbound traffic remained heavy across the bridge to Lombard Street in San Francisco, according to Fry.

Southbound traffic was not affected, Fry said.
