The greening of K Street

“The green revolution is on its way,” trumpets DC lobbying firm Dow Lohnes in announcing its new practice, Dow Lohnes Green Solutions. Here’s how the firm sets the stage, note the last parenthetical:

People have embraced “going green” in their personal lives and now entire companies are changing, too. Dow Lohnes Green Solutions will provide strategic oversight in helping companies reach their green goals (usually tied to government funding and regulation standards). [emphasis added.]

Jessica Lenard is one of the principles at DL Green. The press release describes her as “a former top energy and environmental policy advisor to Senate Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin. She also was “senior legislative assistant to Rep. Frank Pallone,” the senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Resources Committee.

Another principle is Liz Burdock, who served as executive director of the Clinton Administration’s Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing. She’s on the Environmental Steering Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.

And in another sign that Obama is good for K Street:

“Our strategy is more important today as government funding and regulation are increasingly tied to reducing carbon output.”
