The grass is greener at Dolores Park 

Police aren’t the only ones cleaning up your home to the Hunky Jesus contest, the Mime Troupe and many other San Francisco memories.

The Recreation and Park Department is replanting grass in the more used areas of Dolores Park, which is more than a century old, to keep the pastures greener.

But this is just the beginning. Its 13.7 acres of open space is also slated for bigger and better facelifts, like better pathways, a more fluid irrigation system, more lighting and an upgraded playground.

Rec and Park spokeswoman Lisa Seitz-Gruwell said the department said may also using trash compactors at Dolores and other high-traffic parks.
