The Daily Outrage: Sloppy record keeping at ATF 

WHO: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

WHAT: The ATF reportedly lost 76 weapons and hundreds of laptops during a five-year period, according to a Justice Department report.

WHY IT’S HAPPENING: The report blamed carelessness and sloppy record-keeping as well as theft. The ATF said it was reviewing its procedures and “agrees or partially agrees with most of the recommendations.”

WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA: These are the people who are supposed to be enforcing laws and preventing crime.
