The Daily Outrage: Philly kids arrested after vicious group assaults, robberies

WHAT: Philadelphia police arrested an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl on assault charges for allegedly participating in a group beating of a woman at a playground during a scary new random-attack game called “Catch and Wreck.” Police expect to charge the 11-year-old in an earlier assault in which a 73-year-old is still hospitalized after suffering a heart attack while being hit with sticks and kicked.

WHY: Kids have told investigators the object of the game is to surround someone they think might be homeless and beat them up and rob them for fun.

WHAT’S BEING DONE: Police are hoping that some quick arrests will halt this brutal street game and prevent it from spreading beyond its southwest Philadelphia starting point. Meanwhile, Philly also is struggling with an outbreak of teen flash-mob riots.
