The Daily Outrage: Federal agency blows $80.5 million on fancy new office building

WHAT: The Internal Revenue Service received $80.5 million in stimulus funds from the General Services Administration to renovate an office building in Andover, Mass.

WHY IT’S OUTRAGEOUS: The IRS renovations will include a new reflecting pool, art gallery and indoor gardens. Also, the office is designed to house 2,000 employees even though only 900 currently work there.

WHERE TO VENT: Call the General Services Administration at (202) 501-0800 and tell them stimulus funding was not supposed to provide fancy working quarters for bureaucrats.
