He must have called himself a dumbbell for inviting this madwoman into his home.

ATenderloin man was beaten with exercise weights and a kitchen table leg,  and also bitten and strangled, after asking a 27-year-old woman who was high on meth and booze to leave his apartment Thursday, police said.

Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Eddy Street at about 7:30 a.m. and found the 37-year-old victim with lacerations, a bite wound and bruising on his neck, Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.

The man told police he had only known the woman for four days when he invited her up to his room. They both drank, Toomer said, but the woman was also doing meth.

At one point the woman reportedly became angry. The victim claimed her anger was unprovoked, and when he asked her to leave she “started wailing on him,” Toomer said.

The unidentified woman fled before police arrived, but officers reportedly know who she is. Although she had not been arrested as of Friday morning, Toomer said, the investigation is ongoing,

The man was treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Toomer said.
