Teenaged Ingleside Heights resident startled awake during robbery

A sleeping 15-year-old Ingleside Heights resident was startled awake by burglars on Monday who pulled a sheet over his head and ransacked the home, police said.

Two burglars entered through a side door of the home in the 200 block of Broad Street at 12:40 p.m. The teenager heard the commotion, but then went back to sleep, police said.

But the burglars, described only as men in their late teens to early 20s, woke up the victim and asked him where they could find money. They then ransacked the house, with one of the suspects putting a sheet over the teen’s head, police said.

The suspects fled. As of Tuesday, police and the victims were still assessing whether anything was stolen.

There were no arrests and the boy was not injured, police said.
