Teen girl evades creep's clutches

A man in an orange minivan tried to abduct a teenage girl in the Bayview on Tuesday, police said.

The teenager was waiting for a bus at Palou Avenue and Newhall Street about 8 a.m. when the van pulled up, police said.

The driver opened the passenger door and told the teen in Spanish to hop in for a ride, but she refused.

He then asked for her phone number, police said, which she refused to reveal. Finally, the creep got out and tried to grab the girl, but she was able to get away.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man with a skinny build, between 27 and 30 years old with long black hair, police said. He was last seen wearing beige pants and an orange T-shirt.
