Take advantage of opportunity to make a quick fix in your park

You have to make one of three dates if you want to apply for your share of a $5 million fund you voted for to make one-time improvements to eyesores in open spaces.

The nonprofit Neighborhood Parks Council and the Recreation and Park Department have set up five dates for workshops to walk you through the application for the Community Opportunity Fund.

It’s a chunk of the $185 million, 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks General Obligation Bond.

The next workshop is Saturday at the Joe Lee Recreation Center at 10 a.m.

Here’s the flyer.

A seven-member committee will vote on which applications will benefit from the funds.
