TA interested in ideas that get people out of cars

Got an environmentally-savvy idea about getting people out of their cars and into alternative methods of travel? If so, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority is interested.

From now until April 2, the TA will be accepting applications for smart transit ideas as part of its Transportation Fund for Clean Air Program. The objective of the program is to fund the “most effective transportation projects that achieve emission reductions from motor vehicles”, according to TA documents.

With a $790,000 budget for the program, the TA wants interested applicants to submit ideas with the following components: a project information sheet, description of any necessary outside funds, a schedule for all project phases, details on major line items, a cost effectiveness worksheet and a signed transmittal letter.

More information on the program can be found online at http://www.sfcta.org/.

The TA is a public planning and funding agency that manages The City’s transportation tax.
