Swedish man goes nuclear on stovetop

A Swedish man who was arrested after trying to split atoms in his kitchen said he was only doing it as a hobby. Richard Handl, 31, posted on his blog that he did not succeed in building a homemade nuclear reactor, but did manage to create a small meltdown on his stove with radioactive radium, uranium and americium. Handl got caught when he wrote to Sweden’s Radiation Authority asking if his nuclear experiments were legal.
