Suspected bank bandit nabbed — at work

This alleged gun-toting Bonnie kept her sunglasses on during recent bank heists to presumably conceal her mug, but cops say they caught up with her Thursday in an even less discreet setting — at her job.

Shelly Jones, 34, of Antioch, was arrested on suspicion of robbing two banks in San Francisco and another in Daly City last month, showing off a black semiautomatic handgun to force tellers to hand over cash, police said.

Cops arrested Jones, a shuttle-bus driver in Martinez, while she was at work, Daly City police Sgt. Dave Mackriss said. An anonymous tipster informed authorities, police said.

Jones allegedly robbed two banks in San Francisco: the Bank of America on the 3700 block of Balboa Street on July 12 and a second Bank of America on the 5200 block of Diamond Heights Boulevard four days later. She also allegedly robbed a bank in Daly City on July 21, the Provident Credit Union on Junipero Serra Boulevard, police said.

The amount of cash stolen in the heists was not disclosed.

Jones is currently being held in San Mateo County Jail.
