Supes want tougher penalties for assaulting Patrol Specials

Police Chief George Gascon will be asked during a hearing Monday to consider stiffer penalties for individuals who commit assault or battery on Patrol Special police officers.

The resolution, sponsored by Supervisor Bevan Dufty, will be heard by the Board of Supervisors Public Safety Committee.

Patrol Special officers fall under the Police Department’s jurisdiction and emphasize community policing.
