Supes vote on ‘secure communities’ continued

The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday continued a vote on a resolution introduced by Supervisor Eric Mar that would urge the opting-out of “secure communities.”

Supervisor Carmen Chu requested a continuance and so the vote was put off until June 8. The board does not meet on June 1, as Monday is a holiday.

The postponement came on the day The City found out that a request to opt out was denied by the Attorney General.

“The program would tear apart San Francisco families,” the resolution says. You can read the entire resolution here.
