Supes to vote on creating an energy efficiency committee

The Board of Supervisors Rules Committee votes Thursday on legislation that would create an Energy Efficiency Steering Committee to “advise the Board of Supervisors on planning and decision-making regarding energy efficiency projects.”

The committee is supposed to “create and maintain a high-level discussion between the community and The City on the spending and allocation of energy efficiency funds” and advise the board on energy efficiency projects. The recommendations are supposed to be guided by some core principles such as prioritizing low-income communities and local job creation.

The legislation, which was introduced by Supervisor Eric Mar, will be voted on Thursday by the board’s Rules Committee, which meets at 10 a.m. at City Hall in Room 263.
