Supes sending love to one of their own

On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors will vote on a resolution “congratulating Assemblymember Fiona Ma on her appointment as Speaker pro Tempore of the California State Assembly.”

As you may recall, Ma once served on the Board of Supervisors, representing District 4. Ma was elected to the California 12th Assembly District in November 2006.

“The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco proudly congratulates its alumnus,” says the resolution, which was introduced by Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi. It also notes that Ma is the first Asian-American woman to hold the post of Speaker pro Tem. She was appointed to the post by State Assembly Speaker John Perez.
