Supes say yes, audit the Alemany Farmers' Market

The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved on Tuesday an audit of The City’s operation of the Alemany Farmers’ Market.

The audit was requested by Supervisor Sophie Maxwell, a fan of the market and whose district includes it.

The audit request follows on the heels of last year’s controversy that erupted when The City started making changes to how stall operators could operate at the market.

“We have a special responsibility to ensure the market is managed in a professional fashion and in a way that supports the overall goals of the market, delivering a quality product and experience for customers and embracing local and regional producers,” Maxwell has said.
