Supes give final OK on eviction protections for foreclosed buildings

The Board of Supervisors gave final approval Tuesday on its second and unanimous vote on legislation that extends just-cause eviction protections to tenants in buildings built post-1979 and have gone into foreclosure.

The legislation, introduced by Supervisor John Avalos, is a gutted version of legislation that would have extended just-cause eviction protections to all units built post-1979. That legislation was previously successfully vetoed by Mayor Gavin Newsom.
