Supervisors to promote recycling at Chinatown restaurant

Two San Francisco supervisors will visit a Chinatown restaurant Thursday that they extol as a model of The City’s recycling and composting program.

District 3 Supervisor David Chiu and District 4 Supervisor Carmen Chu will join San Francisco Department of the Environment Director Melanie Nutter at the Far East Cafe at 631 Grant Ave. at 11:30 a.m.

City officials are trying to promote recycling and composting among small businesses, which they say not only helps the environment but also has the potential to save money.

The City is offering free services such as waste assessments, and help setting up recycling and composting bins.
