Supervisors approve $1.5M settlement in pedestrian fatality case

The City will pay out $1.56 million in the latest lawsuit against The City involving a government employee driving a vehicle and hitting a pedestrian.

Xiu Fang Huang was walking across a crosswalk at the intersection of Ocean and Miramar avenues on Feb. 9, 2010, when a vehicle driven by a San Francisco Public Utilities Commission employee fatally hit her while speeding, according to the lawsuit.

The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the lawsuit settlement Tuesday.
