Supervisor Maxwell faces recall effort

San Francisco District 10 Supervisor Sophie Maxwell is facing a recall effort by a group calling itself the Campaign to Recall Sophie Maxwell. The group needs to gather 7,529 signatures, or 20 percent of District 10’s registered voters, before the end of the workday Monday to make it onto the June ballot. This isn’t the first time district residents have attempted to recall Maxwell. An attempt in 2004 was thwarted after the elections department invalidated 973 signatures, including 875 that were signed by unregistered voters.
