Sunshine task force member resigns citing ‘frustrations’

Member of the Sunshine Ordinance Task Force Kristin Chu has sent in her resignation.

“I am resigning from the SOTF effective immediately,” her resignation letter says. “Over the last three and a half years I have found the Task Force interesting and engaging but I find my recent frustrations with our work are too great to overcome. I haveenjoyed working with each of you and wish you the best. You are doing important work.”

The task force's mission is “to protect the public's interest in open government” and to enforce The City’s sunshine laws, including voting on complaints alleging violations of open government laws.

The Sunshine Ordinance Task Force consists of eleven voting members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Chu’s seat is for someone who has “Demonstrated interest in or has experience in the issues of citizen access and participation in local government.”
