String of gunpoint robberies in SF continue

‘Tis the season for armed robberies in San Francisco, apparently.

After six people were held at gunpoint and robbed in separate incidents citywide starting late Tuesday night, yet another occurred in the Ingleside neighborhood around midnight Thursday, police said.

A 32-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of Mission Street and Admiral Avenue when a 20-year-old Hispanic man reportedly held him up at gunpoint. The victim tried to fight off the suspect, but the suspect hit him with his gun and ran off with the victim’s property, police said.

There was no immediate arrest in the case.

Less than three hours earlier, there was also an attempted armed robbery in the Lower Haight area on the 600 block of Page Street, police said. This time, the suspect, a 23-year-old black man, used a pellet gun to demand a 29-year-old woman’s property. The victim refused, fled, notified police and the pellet gun bandit was caught.
