Stephen Curry helps debut new game

The Warriors point guard, a leading candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year, is a big fan of video games. Last week, Curry helped debut “Red Steel 2,” a new first-person shooter  game from Ubisoft.

How did you find out about ‘Red Steel 2’? I actually played it for the first time the day it came out [Tuesday]. I love the graphics and the objective of the game. It’s a lot of fun to play.

When do you get the chance to play video games? Any time we have a long road trip and we’re staying in a lot of hotels, I’ll bring out my games. There can be a lot of down time on the road, so it’s always a good time to catch up on all my video games.

Any strategies for ‘Red Steel 2’ that you can relate to basketball? For both basketball and “Red Steel,” you need a lot of precision and accuracy. You have to use both your hands in the video game, so you need to have good hand-eye coordination, just like in basketball. I’m considered a slasher in basketball, but in this game I can become a real master swordsman.

Do you plan on challenging any of your teammates to square off in the game? Yeah. Ronny Turiaf found out I was helping promote this game, so he challenged me to a duel. I plan on taking him down.
