Stanford, Cal dominate preseason All-Pac-10

With Stanford and Cal expected to pick up where they left off last season, it wasn't surprising when the two Bay Area schools dominated the All-Pac-10 Conference preseason women's basketball team Tuesday.

Cal junior Devanei Hampton, a 6-foot-3 forward-center who is the reigning Pac-10 Player of the Year, and Bears teammate Ashley Walker, a 6-1 junior forward-center, are joined on the team by Stanford's Candice Wiggins, a 5-11 senior guard, and Jayne Appel, a 6-4 sophomore forward-center who was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year last season.

Arizona State junior guard Briann January rounds out the first team.

Stanford is the consensus favorite to win its eighth straight Pac-10 regular-season championship, while Arizona State is second and Cal third in the coaches' and media polls.
