SRO complaint legislation to go before committee

Hotel residents in San Francisco would be informed by their landlords that they can phone 311 to report alleged Housing Code violations, under draft legislation.

The Department of Building Inspection’s Code Advisory Committee on Wednesday morning is scheduled to consider legislation introduced by Supervisor David Campos.

If adopted by the Board of Supervisors, the legislation would require residential hotel owners and operators to post notices advising hotel occupants that they may telephone the City’s Customer Service Center at 311 to report alleged violations of the Housing Code.
