Cal moves up to No. 2 after USC loss

Stanford’s shocking victory over Pete Carroll and Southern Cal has benefitted the Bay Area as a whole. After USC dropped a 24-23 loss to the Cardinal on Saturday, Cal, which had a bye week, has moved up to No. 2 with its best showing in the AP Top 25 since 1951. Speaking of No. 1, LSU was the unanimous choice for the No. 1ranking. As for those Trojans? Well, they dropped all the way down to No. 10. Ohio State is No. 3 and No. 4 Boston College has its highest ranking since Doug Flutie had the Eagles in fourth in 1984.
