Sports briefs: Sharks unveil their new look

Just a day before they were to wear them for the first time in a game, the Sharks unveiled their long-awaited new jerseys. The jerseys look very simliar to their previous model, with the biggest difference being the stripes on the sleeve and at the bottom of the sweater. That harkens back to the original Sharks jerseys. The other major change is adding burnt orange as an accent color. The Sharks open their preseason schedule at Los Angeles today at 7:30 p.m.

Sophomore forward Conor Chinn, who sparked wins over No. 11 Cal and Stanford, was named West Coast Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week. He also helped put the Dons in the Soccer America poll for the first time this year, breaking in at No. 11. The Dons (4-1) have won four straight and host fifth-ranked UCLA on Thursday and New Mexico on Saturday.
