Sports briefs: Raiders’ McNeal arrested

The latest NFL player to be arrested has hit closer to home. Raiders backup defensive end Bryant McNeal was arrested by Columbia, S.C., police for having an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop. McNeal, 27, was wanted in Florida for selling a Land Rover to a pawn broker for $15,000 when he didn’t own it in Clearwater, Fla.

Final All-Star votes are in

The fans have spoken online and they have awarded a couple of pitchers the final roster spots on the NL and AL All-Star teams. Boston reliever Hideki Okajima, left, joins the AL and San Diego lefty Chris Young makes the NL team. Also, the first All-Star substitution has been made as Houston starter Roy Oswalt replaces injured Atlanta righty John Smoltz.
