Oden’s season ends before it even starts

The basketball world will have to wait another year for the Greg Oden show to start. The Portland Trail Blazers’ No. 1 overall pick will miss the entire 2006-07 season, according to the team. Oden, who said on his blog he had a sharp pain in his right knee about a month ago, went in for an exploratory procedure on the knee and ended up having microfracture surgery. He expected to be on crutches for up to eight weeks. Full recovery likely will take six to 12 months, the team said.
