Sports briefs: Edwards ready for ‘MNF’

After leading the Buffalo Bills to their first win of the season, former Stanford star Trent Edwards says he’s enjoyed his short ride in the pros. "It’s definitely been a fun experience so far," he said. "I never thought it would happen this quickly for me." Edwards will learn a lot this week when he plays in front of a national audience as the Bills face Dallas on "Monday Night Football."

Rhodes back after serving suspension

For the first time since the preseason, running back Dominic Rhodes will get to practice with his new Raiders teammates. Unfortunately, he will have to wait another week to get into a game since the Raiders have a bye. Nevertheless, the former Colt, who served a four-game suspension after pleading guilty in the offseason to reckless driving charges, plans to stay out of trouble. "It’s just been a frustrating process leading up to now, and I’m here, and it’s an off week, so I’ve got to wait even longer. I never want to have to go through this again so I’m going to be on my best behavior," he said.
