Spin to win at River Rock

A summertime “Spin it to Win it” promotion at River Rock Casino has proved so popular it’s been extended while the casino readies a football-themed promotion for the fall.

“We’ve had a lot of good feedback,” for spin to win, Marketing Director Chris Wright said. “And good turnout on Sundays as well.”

In spin to win, rewards club members can earn tickets to Sunday drawings that offer winners two chances to spin a wheel. The wheel has spots with cash and other prizes. Players whose tickets are drawn get up to two spins to win up to $10,000. No one has yet won the grand prize, Wright said. The promotion will run until Aug. 22.

From Sept. 13 to Dec. 27, River Rock will offer Monday Night Madness, a Monday promotion tied to the NFL game of the week. Those with a River Rock players club card must be using their card, and if the player’s name is drawn, that person can win cash. Prizes include $100 when a field goal is kicked, $250 for a touchdown and $500 for a safety. If the total score is more than 55 points, the prize is $500.

River Rock also has named a new director of food and beverage, Will Dunbar, to oversee all food and beverage operations.
Dunbar opened and worked for several Las Vegas restaurants, such as Koi at Planet Hollywood, and Nove Italiano and N9NE Steakhouse in The Palms.

Dunbar started working at River Rock about a month and a half ago, Wright said, and will probably first tackle improving the menu at the Center Stage Bar and Grille.

Dunbar is also an accredited sommelier, and with the casino in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country, River Rock guests can expect improved wine selections.
