SoMa store fleeced of jackets by armed punks

A store in the South of Market neighborhood was robbed by a gang of armed punks Thursday, police said.

The four suspects, one man in his 20s and three women ranging in age from 18 to 25, entered the store in the 800 block of Howard Street around 6 p.m., took seven jackets and left without paying, cops said.

A 40-year-old employee of the store saw the theft on surveillance video, cops said. He and a 26-year-old male colleague confronted the crooks outside the store. One of the crooks brandished a can of pepper spray and another drew a handgun. They then fled on foot with the coats.

No arrests have been made.
