SMC Sheriff's Office seeking tips on construction site thefts

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding at least two men who have been burglarizing construction sites in San Carlos.

On Wednesday, three separate work sites were burglarized. The crooks took table saws, drills, nail guns and hand tools, among others.

In all the thefts, the tools were left unsecured.

A vehicle of interest was seen in the area of one of the thefts Tuesday morning, the Sheriff's Office said. It was described as a 2000 to 2006 GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe, brown with large chrome rims.

Two light-skinned males were reportedly in the vehicle.

Anyone with information on these burglaries is encouraged to call the Sheriff's Office anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.
