Slain officer remembered

For family and friends who gathered Thursday night to remember Isaac Espinoza, right, the 29-year-old San Francisco police officer killed four years ago in the line of duty, emotions still linger.

A bugle call and the presentation of a stained-glass memorial were part of the ceremony, which took place behind Bayview Station. A garden there is already named for Espinoza.

Espinoza was gunned down by Bayview gang member David Hill with an assault rifle. The case stirred a national death-penalty debate when District Attorney Kamala Harris refused to seek the ultimate punishment.
