SkyWest flight makes emergency landing at SFO

A SkyWest commercial flight had to make an emergency landing right after it took off from San Francisco International Airport on Monday morning because the landing gear did not retract.

It was in the air for about 10 minutes, headed to Spokane, Wash., before the captain decided to return because the wheels did not go back into the plane, SkyWest spokeswoman Marissa Snow said.

The plane landed safely just after 10 a.m.

The 36 passengers onboard had to wait for the next flight at 11:30 a.m.

SFO spokesman Mike McCarron said everything went smoothly and the landing did not cause any delays.
