Since when has Pat Robertson opposed religious freedom and property rights?

From the AP:

NEW YORK — The debate over a planned Islamic community center and mosque near ground zero became a court fight Wednesday, as a conservative advocacy group sued to try to stop a project that has become a fulcrum for balancing religious freedom and the legacy of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The American Center for Law and Justice, founded by the Rev. Pat Robertson, filed suit Wednesday to challenge a city panel’s decision to let developers tear down a building to make way for the mosque two blocks from ground zero.

The lawsuit is about the alleged historical significance of the building being torn down. I believe that about as much as I believe labor unions when they disingenuously use environmental lawsuits to shake down towns that won’t force developers to use union labor.

This case is really very simple. Are these people terrorists? Then arrest them. Are we going to ban Islamic Centers in Manhattan or bar Muslims from enjoying the property rights that our Constitution guarantees? Then pass that law, if you dare.

And if not, them let them build their mosque. If you like, buy the land next door and establish the Charles Martel Cultural Center.

Or how about IowaHawk’s idea, from Twitter:

Approve Ground Zero mosque only if they agree to perform gay marriages. WEDGE-AGEDDON
