Shop Talk: Shift wins Bulldog award 

Shift Communications, a San Francisco public relations firm, won a bronze award from the trade publication Bulldog Reporter for its "social media news release template," the agency said in a release. The template, which has gathered significant trade media attention, combines services such as social bookmarking and other new Web features in an integrated format.

AMPP acquires broadband media company

San Francisco’s AMPP Media Corp. has purchased Florida firm DemandX, a developer of a broadband video player. The combined firm will be called AMPP Media Networks Inc.

Responsys purchases Loyalty Matrix

Redwood City e-mail and marketing automation software firm Responsys has purchased Loyalty Matrix, Responsys said in a release. Loyalty Matrix is a firm that provided predictions on how best to reach customers online.

Eastwick Communications ranks on biz list

Eastwick Communications, a Redwood City public relations firm, reached 19 on a list of 50 top women-owned businesses, the firm said in a release. The list, compiled by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, is based on company revenue, number of employees in Silicon Valley and percentage of those employees who are female.

Smaato Inc. partners with Third Screen Media

Mobile-device advertising firms Smaato Inc. of San Mateo and Third Screen Media announced a deal to expand their collective reach, particularly to smartphones. Third Screen Media will use its network to sell, manage and deliver advertisements for use in Smaato’s ad platform.
