Shooting reported at Haight Street and Masonic in San Francisco

A person was shot at the busy intersection of Haight Street and Masonic Avenue during broad daylight Wednesday, police said.

Cops on patrol witnessed the shooting at around 1:15 p.m., police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

“The suspect is in custody as well as the weapon,” Esparza said.

The victim, who was shot in the torso, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. His condition was not immediately known, Esparza said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
