SF unemployment drops slightly

The City’s unemployment rate fell slightly in recent months.

The rate in December was 9.4 percent, down from 9.9 percent in October, the state’s Employment Development Department said Friday.

In December, 41,000 people were unemployed, the report said.

Then again, the total number of jobs in the West Bay Area counties – SF, San Mateo and Marin – decreased by 5,700 from November to last month, the agency said.
