S.F. teachers send message to Pelosi

San Francisco teachers will be delivering postcards to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, this afternoon in an effort to discourage Pelosi from reauthorizing the "No Child Left Behind Act."

Educators are unhappy with the guidelines set forth by the 2002 legislation, which is set to be renewed in 2008, according to the United Educators of San Francisco.

Teachers will meet at 11 a.m. outside of Moscone Elementary School at 2576 Harrison St. to sign cards, according to organizers.

Teachers will then hand-deliver the cards to Pelosi at her office in the San Francisco Federal Building at 450 Golden Gate Ave.
