SF set to receive boost in tax revenues

Here is some good news on the financial front: Of the twelve California counties with property tax rolls exceeding $100 billion, only San Francisco posted an increase at 4.3 percent, according to the state Board of Equalization.

Meanwhile, the assessed valuation in neighboring counties declined, including Contra Costa, which fell 3 percent, Alameda County falling by 1.6 percent and Santa Clara, dropping by 2.4 percent.

San Francisco also received a windfall in the transfer tax generated in the last fiscal year, totaling to more than $83 million.

In June alone, approximately $21.6 million was collected compared to June 2009 which brought in $6.5 million.
