SF schools chief: 60 percent received first school choice 

San Francisco Unified School District Superintendent Carlos Garcia said the district mailed 13,676 letters to families on Friday listing their children’s future public school assignment. Most — 79 percent — of all general education students were assigned to one of their seven choices and 60 percent received their first choice.
