S.F. school official to be arraigned

An assistant principal at a San Francisco public high school arrested by San Jose police earlier this month on felony charges of pimping, pandering and prostitution will be arraigned Thursday in Santa Clara County Superior Court.

Gerald Courtney, 57, is on paid administrative leave from his position at Galileo High School.

San Jose police arrested Courtney on Aug. 7, along with alleged accomplice Hsiu Hwa Chou. Courtney allegedly helped Chou secure leases in two San Jose apartments where prostitutes worked, and also posted advertisements with online services seeking clients, according to police officials.
