S.F. pro event to include high school entry 

Next week's San Francisco Tennis Classic will include one Bay Area high school girls' tennis player.

The third annual USTA Pro Circuit event will hold a qualifier for the prep players Friday at the Golden Gateway Tennis and Swim Club, 370 Drumm St. The even begins at 4 p.m. and ends about 8 p.m.

The winner of the event earns a wild-card berth into the singles draw of the San Francisco Tennis Classic, which runs Oct. 7-14. A prep doubles team has already qualified.

Six players are entered in the challenger tournament (with USTA NorCal ranking): Haley Hemm of Sacred Heart Prep (No. 2), Layla Sanders of El Cerrito (No. 7), Chau Truong of Galileo (No. 34), Michelle Lam of Lowell (No. 45), Jennifer Salomon of Wallenberg (No. 59) and Natalie Dillon of St. Ignatius (No. 88).
