S.F. Pro-Am basketball league set to kick off 34th season 

The San Francisco Bay Area Pro-Am men's basketball league will kick off its 34th season tonight at 8 p.m. at Kezar Pavilion.

The league features some NBA players, college stars and a bevy of other players. Among those expected to play regularly this summer include Cal's Justin Cobbs, former St. Mary's and Riordan High School standout Rob Jones, former Mitty High School star and Arizona-bound Aaron Gordon and Stanford's Josh Huestis and John Gage.

The men's schedule every week on a Monday to Thursday schedule, culminating with the best-of-three championship series which starts Aug. 12.

S.F. City is the league's defending champion and will compete in the opener tonight against South Bay.

The women's Pro-Am league begins Saturday, with games scheduled for 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Among the top women's players expected to be in action this summer are Cal's Talia Caldwell and Brittany Boyd and former Sacred Heart Cathedral standout Lauren Bell, who now plays in Poland.
